18 SHIPS SHELTERING.
Bad weather in the Bay of Biscay and in the Atlantic bought 8 ships to shelter
in Torbay and 10 in Lyme Bay but today the South Devon coast afforded them no
shelter as the wind turned easterly blowing at 40mph with gusts to 52 mph.

to Celine and they are the world's largest short sea ro ro freight ferries.She is
bound from Zeebrugge to Dublin and arrived in Lyme Bay off Torquay to shelter
this afternoon.

from Marchwood to Glenmallen when she anchored in the Deepwater Anchorage, Lyme Bay
for a 2 day stopover 23/1/2019 as she is on a timed ETA.This is the first time one of this class
has anchored off the South Devon coast.

BRIXHAM BREAKWATER REPAIR
Work has begun to repair damage caused by Storm Emma in March 2018.30,000 tons of
granite rock armour is going to be placed on the seaward side using the barge Mormaen 15
owned by Keynvor Morlift Ltd.and also using Sarah Gray 96 / 106gt multicat workboat
and New Ross tug/workboat.The 1st barge load from Falmouth is being laid and the work
will take 6 months.

2019 / 9,900gt 131 metres x 18 metres 184 pass 110 crew owned by Compagnie du Ponant,
France. She is the 4th ship in their Explorer Cruise Expedition Class of 6 ships and after
fitting out in Norway will be delivered in June and her first cruises are in the Baltic.

at the Vard Shipyard Tulcea,Romania from Sulina, Romania to Vard Soviknes-Alesund,
Norway for completion.She has been slow steaming between Start Point and Teignmouth since yesterday evening waiting for a weather improvement somewhere.Resumed journey 13/1.

and whilst en route from Hamburg to Sines landed an overcarried Elbe pilot at Brixham

in the sea mist.
