18 SHIPS SHELTERING.
Bad weather in the Bay of Biscay and in the Atlantic bought 8 ships to shelter
in Torbay and 10 in Lyme Bay but today the South Devon coast afforded them no
shelter as the wind turned easterly blowing at 40mph with gusts to 52 mph.
