She was built as the containership LICA MAERSK in 1981 and aquired by USMSC in 1993 

and converted to a roro and entered service as USNS WILLIAM A.SODERMAN 55,123 tons

 full load in 1997. In 2000 she was transfered to the Maritime Prepositioning Force Squadron

 2 and given her present name.She was bound from Sunny Point, Brunswick County, N.Carolina 

to Nordenham  when she boarded her deepsea pilot at Brixham.She boarded a pilot here 

19/6/1999 as Soderman.
